Quantities Required
When ordering your stationery, make sure that you order everything you need at the same time as we usually try to make use of the one design and one type of paper/card throughout the order and have everything printed on each machine at the one time. Deciding after you have collected your order that you need Thank You Cards will necessitate setting up each machine again and may well necessitate an additional charge for machine time.
Invitations Don’t over order and count one invitation for each guest as you will probably be sending your invitations out to families. ie: Mr & Mrs Jones only require the one invitation so 200 guests might only require 140 invitations Allow extra if you are going to do the calligraphy yourself, as mistakes do happen.
RSVP Totally unnecessary as everyone will respond with their own supply of personalised note paper or Cards they will buy reply cards or if that fails you can ring round when the hotel demands to know the numbers for their kitchen. It sounds easier than it actually is. Most people don’t have their own stationery and best intentions to purchase a reply card will be left to last minute and when you are put under pressure to confirm numbers and you have to ring everybody anyway. It is usual to leave one night aside to call everybody, but, in reality, when you call a friend or relative to confirm their attendance the conversation turns to your state of excitement and the honeymoon and who else is going and how much you/they are looking forward to it, and how lucky you or the groom is, and whatever and before you know it, instead of having your answer for the hotel in one night, after 5 hours on the phone, you have confirmed that 4 families will be coming and still have 50 more calls to make or another 12 nights of telephoning round. Realistically our RSVP cards are small, nice, functional and inexpensive. They come with an addressed envelope, so all your guests have to do is complete it, stick a stamp and post it and you will save yourself how much time?
Orders of The rule here is that if you have 100 guests expected at the service, order 110 (110%) Orders of Service Service, or Orders of the Day, or Wedding Mass Booklets, as inevitably guests or visitors such as Day friendly neighbours who have known the bride all their lives - but have not officially been invited to Mass the wedding - will turn up. Books If you are considering ordering one booklet between two, the rule is order 75 (75%) as your ushers will - if requested - hand out booklets as demanded (in some cases) and if you have only one between two, you can run out and the last thing any bride needs on her wedding day is the ushers having to go into the church and beg the return of any unnecessary booklets
Place One each and that included the bride and groom and everyone at the top table. Remember to allow for mistakes when writing out the names. Cards
Thank As the invitations in terms of quantities, but allow for the fact that some of the evening guests or some You of the uninvited guests or neighbours or work colleagues will send or bring small gifts, and these Cards must be acknowledged. It’s also best to order these in advance and write a card when you actually receive the present, otherwise everything piles up and before you know it, your sitting with 50-200 cards trying to remember who bought you what and what you want to say. Far better to hand the finished addressed cards to the Best Man to post them out the day after the wedding.
Paper We have access to virtually any paper you care to mention through our wholesalers, but in general, we recommend that customers choose from the GFSmith range as they have a wide variety of papers, finishes and colours, and the minimum quantities that we have to order are usually small, so there is less wastage. We have the full swatch booklet available for inspection and samples usually take no more than 10 working days.
Designs If you have a design or theme in mind, instead of trying to explain it to us, if you could actually draw us our a sample of what you require, showing where any printing needs to be done, what areas are to be foiled, etc. Even better if you can provide us with a sample, however, we cannot copy existing designs, but we can design substantially similar designs without any problem.
